Integrated nonlinear structural simulation of composite buildings in fire

The collapse of several tall composite buildings over the last two decades has shown that performance tall, and complex in fire is a necessary design consideration ought to go beyond simple code compliance. To this end, advancements field numerical simulation both thermomechanical response structures have been made. In isolation, practical benefit these limited, their true potential only unlocked when results those simulations are integrated. This paper starts by showcasing recent developments thermal analysis using OpenSees. Integration into unified environment combining simulation, heat transfer, mechanical then introduced. Finally, demonstration example based on large compartment Cardington test used showcase necessity efficiency developed for fire.
